Coty Donohue Leaves SYC

July 29, 2019

Dear SYC Families,

For the past four years I have worked for SYC, including three years as the coordinator, and one as an enrichment instructor while I was a paraprofessional with the middle school. I cannot say that I have ever had a job that I’ve enjoyed as much or learned as much from. However, at the conclusion of the summer SYC program I will be leaving my post, and moving onto an opportunity with the Division for Children Youth and Families (DCYF) with the State of NH, out of the Seacoast branch.

I’ve hoped to be a positive role model, as well as a caring and supportive adult for your students.  I’ve also worked to continue to build upon the fantastic SYC programs under the leadership of Maureen Jackman. I will not be far out of reach and continue to be a familiar face around the city: my new role includes working in Somersworth; I have a home here; and I enjoy staying involved in the community including having a seat on the Zoning Board.

You are left in great hands, as Ben Fisher will be the new SYC Site Coordinator for the middle school. Ben brings experience from serving in the New Hampshire Army National Guard, working in local restaurants, volunteering in politics and interning & substitute teaching at Somersworth Middle School. Ben received his Bachelor of Arts in History and his Master's in Secondary Education from the University of New Hampshire. After completing his Master's degree internship at SMS, Ben is excited to return and continue working and connecting with the Somersworth community.

Thank you for a great four years, and I’ll see you around!

Sincerely,

Coty Donohue
